A maternity class was packed to the brim with heavily pregnant women and their expectant husbands.
The instructor clapped her hands to get their attention. “Ladies, remember that exercise is incredibly good for you right now. Walking is especially beneficial—it strengthens your pelvic muscles and will make delivery much easier. Just pace yourselves, take plenty of breaks, and try to stay on a nice, soft surface… like a grass path.”
She then turned a sharp eye toward the men. “And gentlemen, remember: you’re in this together. It wouldn’t hurt you to go walking right alongside her. In fact, that shared experience will do wonders for you both.”
A heavy, thoughtful silence fell over the room as the husbands absorbed the information.
After a few moments, a man in the very back row slowly raised his hand.
“Yes?” the instructor asked.
The future father cleared his throat and asked, “I was just wondering… would it be alright if she carries my golf bag while we walk?”
