When Katie heard that her elderly grandfather had passed away, she hurried to her grandparents’ house to comfort her 95-year-old grandmother.
After giving her a long hug, Katie gently asked, “Grandma… what happened to Grandpa?”
Her grandmother sighed and said, “He had a heart attack while we were making love on Sunday morning.”
Katie’s eyes nearly popped out of her head.
“Grandma! At your age? Isn’t that a little… risky?”
Granny smiled and shook her head.
“Oh, sweetheart, we figured that out years ago.”
“We only did it when the church bells were ringing.”
Katie looked confused. “Why the church bells?”
Grandma chuckled.
“They gave us the perfect rhythm.”
“Nice and slow…”
“In on the ding…”
“Out on the dong…”
“Nothing too strenuous.”
She paused, dabbed her eyes with a handkerchief, and let out a long sigh.
“He’d probably still be here today…”
“…if that blasted ice cream truck hadn’t driven by.”
