One father believed he had invented the ultimate psychological test to accurately predict his teenage son’s future career path.
He cleared off the living room coffee table and carefully laid out three bait items: a crisp ten-dollar bill, a bottle of whiskey, and a Holy Bible.
“It’s simple,” the father whispered to his wife. “If he takes the cash, he’ll be a banker. If he goes for the whiskey, he’ll be a drunk. But if he chooses the Bible, he’s destined to be a preacher.”
Hearing footsteps, the anxious parents ducked behind the sofa to watch the experiment unfold.
The boy sauntered into the room and stopped at the table. He picked up the ten-dollar bill, held it up to the light, and slid it straight into his pocket. Next, he uncorked the whiskey, took a deep appreciative sniff, and gripped it by the neck. Finally, he picked up the Bible, casually flipped through the pages, and tucked it firmly under his arm.
With all three items secured, he happily strolled out of the room.
The father peeked over the couch, his face a mix of shock and utter awe.
“Well, how do you like that…” he muttered to his wife. “He’s going to be a politician!”
