Prince Louis, aged five, is a certain way to introduce humor and lightheartedness into any setting, as his lovable and cheeky nature challenges typical royal stoicism. Fortunately for the Prince and Princess of Wales, big sister keeps an eye over tiny Louis to ensure he is acting accurately.
Princess Charlotte, William and Catherine’s nine-year-old daughter, exemplified royal manners as she joined her family on the Buckingham Palace balcony for Trooping the Colour on Saturday.
Charlotte made a point of reminding her brother Louis of the “proper” way to behave, even though he was more interested in dancing, yawning, and pointing to the excitement below. A video of their sweet sibling interaction went popular on TikTok.
CNN anchor Max Foster (@maxfostercnn) tweeted a video from the BBC in which Princess Charlotte instructs Prince Louis to lower his arms as the national anthem’s fanfare begins.
The youngest Wales brother promptly pulls his arms behind his back in response to the Princess’ gentle prodding.
Royal fans praised Princess Charlotte’s composed manner and “future Queen” vibe in a TikTok video that has since received over two million views.
“Did anyone notice that kids are kids no matter who, where, or when they are? Princess Catherine doesn’t seem to care if the kids are fidgety. Charlotte, good on you! Your older siblings will always be the BOSS,” wrote one admirer.
“Charlotte isn’t bossy, my girl has leadership skills!” Another person replied, and a third person wrote: “She was taught so well. She is always so well-behaved and in position. Soon-to-be Queen!”
“Charlotte definitely shows leadership, Louis shows character,” wrote the fourth.
Princess Charlotte displays leadership skill of a future monarch
It is highly unlikely that Princess Charlotte would ever succeed to the throne, even though many royal admirers have compared her to her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and pointed out characteristics in her that are reminiscent of a future queen.
Even though she is third in line for the British monarchy, her older brother, Prince George, would have to abdicate or die before she could take the kingdom, if the royal has no children by that time.
Princess Charlotte might instead take on the role of Princess Royal, which is currently held by her great-aunt, Princess Anne. The Princess Royal, the King’s most dedicated supporter and closest friend, remains by his side throughout his life and reign.
Princess Charlotte will be the next Princess Royal, according to a royal admirer on old Twitter platform X. Princess Charlotte already provides steadfast support for Prince George, just as the King has provided Princess Anne’s consistent support throughout their lives.”
