A group of high school seniors had picked up a new habit.
Every morning, after applying lipstick in the girls’ restroom, they’d press their lips against the mirror…
Leaving it covered with bright lipstick kisses.
Every evening, the poor school custodian scrubbed the mirrors spotless.
And every morning…
The lipstick marks came right back.
After weeks of this, the principal decided it was time for a lesson the girls would never forget.
She gathered all of the students in the restroom and invited the custodian to join them.
The principal smiled and said,
“Girls, these lipstick marks may seem harmless, but they’re creating a lot of extra work for our custodian every single day.”
Then she turned to him.
“Would you mind showing everyone how you clean the mirrors?”
The custodian nodded without saying a word.
He picked up his long-handled squeegee…
Walked over to the nearest toilet…
Dipped the squeegee into the toilet bowl…
Then calmly wiped the mirror from top to bottom.
The girls stood there…
Completely speechless.
From that day on…
Not a single lipstick mark ever appeared on those mirrors again.
