People online think that Donald Trump just criticized Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with his comments during his recent visit to the UK.
The US President took a trip over the pond this week, where he had a communication with Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, as well as time for a spot of golf after opening his new course in Aberdeenshire.
He had a meeting with Starmer and his spouse, Victoria Starmer, at his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland yesterday. Thus far, there have been some awkward moments, such as ill-timed bagpipes or the Prime Minister interrupting after Trump called London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan a “nasty person.”
He also mentioned how much he loves the Royal Family during this sit-down, however some people on the internet think he was making fun of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who left the royal life in 2021 and now reside in California.
Trump said: “Being with Charles, Camilla and everybody, I’ve got to know a lot of the family members. They are great people. They are really great people.”
In spite of the remarks, he continued by obliquely mentioning other “people” who “weren’t great people.”
“And in that sense I think the UK is very lucky, you could have people that weren’t great people,” he said. “I don’t know if I can say that, but you could have people that weren’t.”
Starmer said, ‘we’re really lucky,’ in a brief interjection during the comments.
Royal admirers are certain that Trump’s remarks are directed at Harry and Meghan, even if he did not mention them specifically.
One person said, “He is the best at throwing shade!!” Another said, “I love the shade President Trump throws at Prince Harry & Meghan Markle.”
And a third commented: “Trump has no problems calling them out.”
But someone else added: “That was nothing whatsoever to do with Meghan & Harry,” with another agreeing: “That’s a stretch. You’re just reaching.”
