Travelers who try to lead the way start ahead of other people on a plane could be in for a rude arousing.
Travelling by air can often inform to be a lot of trouble, let’s be honest.
There are popular issues that can happen like long lines, poor service, or delayed flights that can make the whole experience just a slog.
But these annoyances aren’t just confined to the airport, as there are many things that can annoy you when you get on the aircraft.
However, it appears that Turkey is attempting to put an end to a frustrating habit that you have most likely witnessed when your jet arrives at its destination, or, worse, that you have participated in.
Consider this a warning, because the next time you try to fly through Turkey, they will not hesitate to fine you if they catch you doing this.
So, what practice are they attempting to outlaw?
Well, you know those individuals that get out of their seats, grab their luggage, and crowd the walkway before the plane has even stopped moving? Yeah, this is squarely meant at them.
The Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Kemal Yüksek, has issued guidelines to cabin attendants on how to discipline passengers who do this.
He stated that passengers who do not’respect the disembarkation priority of the people in front of or around you’ will be reported to authorities and ‘an administrative punishment will be levied in accordance with the applicable legal regulations’.
According to the Washington Post, travelers who do not comply may face fines of up to 2,603 Turkish lira, or almost $67.
The regulation specifically addressed the issue of unfastening seat belts, standing up, opening overhead compartments, and crowding the aisle while the plane is still taxiing to its gate.
However, it stated that people who stand up and enter the aisle before the row’s turn to exit may face penalties.
Yüksek said that there has been a considerable increase in reports of such behavior, which jeopardizes ‘passenger and baggage safety and security’ while disregarding ‘the satisfaction and exit priority’ of other passengers.
So it’s probably better to sit back, relax, and wait until your row is called before getting up and exiting the plane, or risk incurring a very unnecessary expense before you’ve ever set foot in the nation.
