Prince Harry’s wish for his children for the future will reportedly be stopped in its tracks by his estranged brother, Prince William.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two young children won’t have royal roles once Prince William becomes king.
Several royal experts assert that the Prince of Wales is getting ready for his future as monarch while assisting his father, King Charles, who is battling cancer.
“It’s utterly absurd for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to believe their children might one day choose to become working royals,” Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di for Daily podcast, told Fox News Digital.
“That kind of entitlement isn’t just wishful thinking — it borders on delusion,” she claimed. “These are American children who’ve been raised oceans away from the monarchy, with no exposure to the customs, culture, or continuity that define royal life.”
“Harry closed that door himself the moment he boarded Tyler Perry’s private jet and handed over his life story to a ghostwriter for Spare,” Schofield added.
Schofield’s remarks followed recent reports indicating that Harry, 40, wished to retain HRH titles for his kids – or His and Her Royal Highness – allowing them to decide on their roles as working royals in the future.
Nevertheless, The Times U.K. stated that “during the upcoming reign, it is improbable for Archie and Lili to take on roles as working royals.”
Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are raising their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, in California. Fox News Digital reached out to Kensington Palace and Archewell, which handles the offices for the duke and duchess, for comment.
“Prince William will not be thinking of giving the Sussex children formal future royal roles — ludicrous!” British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital.
“The children are being raised in America and, as I understand, do not have any understanding of the British royal family,” she explained.
“They will not have received the guidance to fit into royal life and royal expectations should not even be a thought … And why would Harry and Meghan want this for their children anyway? They stepped down as working royals, painted the British royal family in the most aberrant light, and ran as far away from them as possible!”
Royal insiders have previously informed Fox News Digital that Harry and William are not communicating with each other. Their relationship declined after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to step back from their roles as senior royals in 2020 and relocate to California.
Following their departure from royal duties, the couple has expressed their frustrations in interviews and documentaries. Harry’s bombshell 2023 memoir “Spare,” revealing humiliating secrets about the House of Windsor, only intensified the situation.
In May, Harry informed the BBC that he wished to mend his relationship with his family, but his father, aged 76, refused to communicate with him. As reported by The Times, Harry’s requests “had minimal impact on the family coldness.”
Sources informed the outlet that William’s feelings toward his brother had changed considerably – to “indifference.”
“Where he previously reacted with fury to his brother’s eruptions — following the release of Spare, a friend mentioned that he was resolute about not responding publicly even though ‘internally he’s seething’ — the rage has diminished to apathy,” wrote royal editor Roya Nikkhah.
A friend shares with me: ‘What has surprised me lately is that he completely neglects to mention it. In the past, family matters consumed much of his thoughts; he had a very tight bond and felt quite distressed. However, he’s no longer allowing it to affect him in any way. It represents a shift. “It’s unfortunate, but it’s a much better environment for him to be in,” she expressed.
