Late one night, I spotted a couple of people stealing from my shed, so I called the police.
The dispatcher said, “Sorry, no officers are available right now.”
A minute later, I called back and said, “Never mind… I’ve already shot them.”
Within minutes, the street was packed with police cars, flashing lights, a helicopter overhead, and a fully armed unit. The thieves were caught on the spot.
An officer walked over and said, “I thought you said you shot them.”
I smiled and replied, “I thought you said no one was available.”
