It is an absurd idea that women should get their bodies back a certain amount of time after giving birth but this idea is everywhere, making women feel the pressure of it.
A woman recently has been struggling with losing weight since giving birth. She’s also struggled with postpartum depression and she tried to confide in her husband about it so that he would understand.
The husband, however demonstrated the direct opposite of understanding in how he handled the situation. Things got so bad that mom snapped, which made her 4-year-old and 6-month-old cry and added to her feelings of guilt. The mom of two took to Reddit to ask for advice on whether or not she was overreacting.
Here is what she wrote:
Her post gained a lot of attention online and many netizens left their comments
Some claimed that this was wrong and that she was in a bad situation.
“You have every right to be upset. That’s cruel. [Expletive] like this causes eating disorders, you deserve a lot better … Your partner deserves to get kicked to the curb.”
“This is bullying and abusive? What is wrong with your partner? He’s belittling you in your own eyes and your childrens’,” one commenter wrote.
While another commenter pointed out, it’s not exactly effective.
“Everyone regains their weight in little more than a year after being berated and abused on that stupid show.”
“[That] show has been proven to not work, like… At all,” they wrote.
How about you? What do you think?
