There are some extreme sacrifices a man is willing to make for the love of his life, but giving up his ice-cold beers is absolutely not one of them.
“Tomorrow is your big day, sweetheart,” David said, trying to be the perfect husband. “What special birthday gift would your heart desire this year?”
His wife looked him dead in the eye. “A giraffe.”
David laughed nervously. “Darling, please be realistic. Where on earth am I going to source a fully grown African mammal on 24 hours’ notice? Ask for something that is actually within the realm of human possibility.”
“Fine,” she sighed, setting her trap perfectly. “Then give up drinking alcohol. You can easily do that, and I’ll accept it as the best gift ever.”
The very next morning, the entire neighborhood was awoken by a massive flatbed truck backing into the driveway, carrying a very confused, fifteen-foot-tall creature that was already happily chewing on the roof gutters.
