Ingredients
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- 2 ripe mangoes (peeled and diced)
- 1 packet of unflavored gelatin (about 1 tbsp)
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
- ½ cup of water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
Get Ready the Gelatin:
In a small bowl, soften the gelatin in ½ cup of water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom, then gently heat it over low heat, soaking until fully dissolved. Set aside to cool slightly.
Mix the Mangoes:
In a blender, add the diced mangoes and mix until smooth, creating a thick puree.
Mix Mango and Condensed Milk:
In a large bowl, blend the mango puree with the sweetened condensed milk. Blend well until smooth and creamy.
Add the Gelatin:
Slowly steam the dissolved gelatin into the mango combination while soaking continuously to ensure even distribution.
Whisk the Cream:
In a separate chilled bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. You can add vanilla extract at this point for extra flavor if desired.
Wrap the Whipped Cream:
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mango mixture, being careful not to diminish the air from the whipped cream.
Chill the Mousse:
Stream the mixture into serving glasses or a large dish. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the mousse is fully set and firm to the touch.
