Memories of first love stay with us for a lifetime. However, it is possible that a person you formerly loved will appear in your life, and meeting them may take an unexpected turn.
Story 1:
When I was younger, my parents and I lived in South America due to their jobs. I met a boy there. We were only buddies for approximately three or four weeks. I thought he was quite gorgeous, and my mother teased me about it. You may call him my first love.
I recently watched him on a television show. It turns out he’s a really renowned actor now! I wonder if he remembers me. © Overheard / Ideer Â
Story 2:
Ever since I split up with my first love, I’ve only been attracted to gorgeous males. Then a guy began courting me at work. He wasn’t very handsome, but I gave in. He gradually improved his appearance, and we’ve now been together for six joyful years.
I just met my first love on the street and was astonished to see that nothing remained of his former beauty but his blue eyes. And next to me walked the world’s most gorgeous and loving man, who was thin and well-groomed. © Overheard / Ideer
Story 3:
When I was 18, my first love left me. It was a huge blow to me. It hurt so severely that I became melancholy for years, rather than just a few weeks or months. After the breakup, I decided I wanted to focus on myself, find a career I like, and start making a lot of money.
In the end, I’ve pushed myself so far that at 26, I don’t have any other boyfriends. And I do not want to. I just met my ex, boasted about my accomplishments, and in my thoughts, I just believed it was a wonderful thing that everything worked out the way it did. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be where I am now. Story 4:
My high school lover was stunning—tall, blond, clean-shaven, with classically attractive bone structure. He modeled a bit after high school, and I lost touch with our shared pals. I tried to find him online (bored, curious), but he has no online presence and a very common name.
I went down a rabbit hole and located his mother and brother on Facebook, where mom had a photo of my high school sweetheart in the background. He’s a large biker dude with lots of facial hair. If Mom hadn’t captioned the photo, I’d never have realized it was him. © Different_Knee6201/Reddit
Story 5:
I had a childhood friend who I had known since we were in diapers. We went to daycare, school, and college together, and we lived in the same dormitory. And she betrayed me, stealing my first love. We fought. I dropped out of university and went to a different city.
It’s been ten years. I recently discovered her social media page. She is still with that guy, they have two children, both work, they are a regular good family, and everything works out. I have a loving husband, my own business, no plans to have children, and we live for ourselves.
I found an old photo album where I had saved one single photo of us together, glanced at it silently thanked her. I guess it was meant to be this way. © Caramel / VK
Story 6:
I was fourteen. At the start of the new school year, I was late for my new English lesson. The class was too full to accommodate me and a few others, so I was transferred at the last minute to another English class with different people/teachers, etc.
I stepped into the classroom, sat down, and noticed “him.” I recall feeling immense admiration and awe because he was so attractive. He was quiet and kept to himself, almost mysterious.
We are still together 9 years later, and I am grateful that I was running late that day and was assigned to his English class; otherwise, we would never have met. © paddyton/Reddit
Story 7:
I had my first love at the age of 16 with a boy my own age. We were both inexperienced, therefore we were unable to establish a proper relationship. We fought, separated, and then reconciled through tears. We went through three years of emotional ups and downs before I dumped him. I don’t think the experience was really healthy. And, as it turned out, he felt differently about it.
Ten years later, we happened to meet in a coffee shop. He admitted that he still couldn’t forget me. Then he astonished me by revealing that he named his daughter after me. I hope his wife doesn’t know. © Caramel/VK
Story 8:
I sat across from her in first period class. I just uttered two words to her the entire time; I was far too intimidated. She was stunningly attractive and dated older men. I was overweight and immature, so no chance. Despite her low high school performance and a dysfunctional family, she completed a Masters program and had a few terrible relationships. She currently runs her own practice.
I hadn’t seen her in 15 years, yet she looked exactly the same when I spotted her on an internet app. After my own round of breakups and maturing, I messaged her online and married her two years later. © Tmrt2020 | Reddit
Story 9:
I married her, then divorced her. It was cordial; we had separate life goals and desired distinct lifestyles. She adored the city (I despise it), but when we purchased a home, she changed jobs to reduce her commute. I could tell she was unhappy.
I wasn’t shocked that the first thing she did after divorce was go to the city. (The first thing I did was get a cat. We haven’t spoken in many years, but it appears she is remarried to someone of the same ethnicity (she had a large extended family and social expectations in her culture that were very demanding of my time, and it put a strain on the relationship, so I’m glad she’s with someone who understands that).
She currently lives in a pleasant suburban area outside of the city. She has a highly successful and undoubtedly wealthy career. Happy for her, especially as she would never have had the life she desired if we had remained together. © SomeoneFetchAPriest / Reddit
Story 10:
She was beautiful. We were in a tiny, tight-knit circle of pals. I recall going out one Friday evening, and she held my hand. I was elated. I know today that she did not fancy me or see me in that light, as we spoke. She knows I had a crush on her in school.
I moved away when I was sixteen. I met her once, briefly, when I was 18, and I always looked for her when I returned to my hometown. Friends Reunited was a website where you could sign up, enter your information, and connect with others from your school. She had not joined, and I was devastated. Then she did.
I quickly paid for a full membership so that I could contact her via the website… She did not answer for two years. I now realize it was because she isn’t particularly concerned about social media. There wasn’t anything like Facebook back then. She exclusively utilized the Internet for research and study purposes. She achieved well for herself. I earned a BA Hons and a law degree.
Things went downhill for her after she decided to meet with me. She has poor taste in men. We have been married for 18 years this year and have two daughters. She is now a mental health nurse. Still have poor taste in men, hehe. © FreekyDeep | Reddit
Story 11:
One day, I arrived to my hometown on business. I hadn’t been there for about ten years. I met up with my first love. And we remembered burying a “time capsule” when we were little.
So we went there to dig it up. We discovered a collection of items we cherished, including stickers and a cassette tape. It turns out that it had captured our dreams. They were about us staying together forever. However, in real life, he is married with three children, whereas I work. © Overheard / Ideer
Story 12:
When I was 18, I fell for a young artist. From the moment we met, I knew this feeling would stay. He became my first love. I was madly about him for a long time, made a lot of mistakes in our relationship, and was the first to admit my feelings, but was rejected.
The last time we spoke, he told me to forget him and go my own way. I obeyed. I quickly got married. I delivered birth. It has already been 11 years since our initial contact with that artist.
I recently learned where he is and saw his photo. He’s changed a lot. There is no sign of that gorgeous face. He’s old and bald now, but I still grieved; I haven’t forgotten him. My heart still aches. I still love him. He must have forgotten about me. © Overheard / Ideer
Story 13:
My first love and I were sitting in the kitchen one evening. We assumed that if we parted unexpectedly, we might reunite by coincidence on a train many years later. I would be on tour with the orchestra, while he would be touring with his band. We’ll chat and start over. We even acted out the anticipated debate.
It’s been 15 years, I’m married and happy, I work in an orchestra as I always wanted, he lives in another city and has his own band. So, why the heck am I still remembering this? And why am I so sad? © Overheard / Ideer
Story 14:
I had to take the train to my hometown for a few days. After two days, I was eating lunch in the restaurant carriage when a guy sat down next to me. He was acting suspiciously and talking about unusual things, yet they seemed quite familiar.
The day after I got home, the guy knocked on my door. He stood there, holding a little, ragged teddy bear. I quickly recognized that teddy bear, and with it, my first love at daycare, who has since become my true love. © Caramel/VK
Story 15:
Breaking up with my first love was very hard. I loved him so much! He was so handsome with blue eyes, master of sports in MMA, cheerful and bright. I was planning to go to university in another city, but he was graduating from a local college and didn’t want me to leave. He insisted that I go to a local provincial university, not even to the specialty I had chosen.
I thought our love would endure a year apart, but he didn’t. In truth, he abandoned me, and I was young and inexperienced, so I couldn’t grasp it right away. I feel embarrassed when I remember how I clung to him, texted and contacted him, wept, and ignored any red indicators. When I returned home on vacation a year later, I discovered he was getting married. A shotgun wedding.
Even 25 years later, it didn’t seem amusing, and it still hurt. Then, like in a horrible soap opera, a seriously ill patient arrived in my department. That was him. I had to manage him after the operation, speak with his new girlfriend (he divorced his first wife nearly quickly), and follow the Hippocratic Oath.
To be honest, I began to feel better after seeing what he had become: a loser, frightened, angry, and genuinely unhappy. At the same time, he is cocky and arrogant, like a provincial pseudo-macho. It’s a good thing our relationship ended in that manner. The worst part was that he attempted to flirt with me. © Caramel/VK
However, most relationships begin with a first date, and some dates can be disastrous. These individuals recounted anecdotes of their first dates. Don’t pass up the chance to read them.
